Short summary of our project’s aims
Improving our competitiveness
With this project we intend to improve the efficiency of our educational work and to ensure our school’s competitiveness. We re-examined our activities in order to find the areas where we lag behind, and determine the ways how we can improve them. Those colleagues who speak foreign languages would like to take the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ programme financed by the EU, so as to improve their language skills in the target culture. As a part of our application, we aimed at seven mobility programmes. We intend to improve not only the professional competences of our colleagues, but also their communication and cooperation skills.
As our main profile is language education, we believe that it is essential for our colleagues to refresh and enrich their vocabulary and communication skills by visiting the target culture. We plan to improve the competences of three of our language teachers by participating in foreign mobility programmes. The language teachers need to be up to date with the latest changes in their field in order to provide suitable methods and techniques for their learners. During the German and English courses, they are going to improve their communication skills and learn new methods and techniques which are vital for modern language teaching. The syllabi of the chosen courses are diverse, so our colleagues will be able to share information and learn from each other when they get home. As a result, their lessons will be more varied, the learners will be more motivated and active. The learners’ communication skills will improve with the help of drama pedagogy. Moreover, our school will be provided by such language teaching methods which are aimed at improving learners with special needs.
Our lower-primary teacher, selected a German language course. It is of utmost importance for our school to improve their language skills. Thus, our colleague will be able to accompany children during foreign trips without the need of an interpreter, and she will be able to substitute language lessons efficiently.
One of our school’s most difficult tasks these years is to adequately cater for those children who either have special needs or behavioural problems. As these pupils often generate conflicts among their peers and teachers, it is essential for our colleagues to learn new methods and techniques with which they will be able to deal with these situations in an effective way. We hope that this course will help our colleague and us to reduce or even prevent conflicts in our school.
Finally, our new headmistress chose a mobility programme which aims at building and strengthening cooperation at our workplace, our school. She hopes that by applying new and innovative cooperative methods, our school staff will become unified and will work together as a real team. Only if we unite and tolerate each other can we reach our goals.
